How To Look Amazing On The First Day of School

How To Look Amazing On The First Day of School

Hey, Hanna here!

All right, girls -- the first day of school can be exciting, but it takes planning. Keep reading for tips so you can look drop-dead gorgeous your first day of school.

01. Looking great takes time, so begin these steps at LEAST 2 weeks before the school year starts.

02. Get to bed earlier to get into a good sleeping pattern. Start waking earlier, too. And try exercising 3-4 times a week. You'll look and feel better.

✏ Make sure any summer homework is finished at least one week before school starts. If not, the extra rush/work can cause stress, which can cause unwanted acne.

✏ Drink plenty of water. It's not only good for your skin; it also hydrates your body. It flushes toxins and helps stop food cravings.

✏ Begin a daily exercise routine over the break. Try jogging, yoga, swimming, visiting the gym or mixing it up. Do a little something every day. This will help keep your energy levels up and shape you up for the upcoming school year.

✏ Develop a skin care regime. If you have acne, get a good quality facial wash. Wash your face daily. This will eliminate acne, leaving skin pimple-free the first day of school. Avoid harsh chemicals that over-dry and cause redness. Companies offer formulas for oily, combination, normal and dry skins. Use what your skin needs and not what your friends are using. If you have combination skin, look for something that won't dry out your normal areas when you wash the oily areas.

✏ Remove unwanted body hair from legs, underarms and face by shaving, waxing or using depilatories. Use caution with depilatories, as they can cause chemical burns on sensitive areas.

✏ Work on your tan. There are options other than sun worshiping and tanning salons. Experiment with self tanners and find a formula that works for you. You can also dust your cheeks, nose and chin with a bronzer. A sun-kissed glow is always great for starting school. Don't start experimenting the day before school, in case you break out or turn a funny color. The smell can also stick around for a day or two.

03. A week or a few nights before the first day is all about planning!

✏ Plan what you are going to wear. Try out different jewellery and accessories. Don't dive into fall looks for your first few weeks of school, since it will still be too warm. Wear lightweight and summery styles. Shop for a few summer items to get you through the warm weather when things go on sale at the end of the summer.

✏ Shop for school supplies. Pack your supplies, bookbag, etc. either the night before or 2 nights before. This way you're not running around in the morning trying to get your stuff together.

04. It's the night before, so get some beauty sleep and calm down!

✏ ake a shower (not a bath) the night before. You want to be clean and nice smelling, but dripping wet hair looks unattractive. Wash your hair twice, and scrub well, but not so hard it hurts. That will leave a mark on your skin. Try scented soap or body wash. Or... You could get up early, take a shower before school starts and get it dried before you get to school.

✏ Go to bed a little earlier than usual. Remember, you don't have the "old" routine down, and you don't want to be late.

✏ Lay out your clothes: put them on the hanger so that you will have more time in the morning. Pick a clean, flat shirt (complying with the school dress code, of course) and nice pants or a skirt. Don't wear baggy or super-short bottoms, they look trashy. Keep them clean, and don't try them on a million times. Lay out socks and shoes, and don't wear a grungy pair of sneakers; make sure your shoes are clean. Socks aren't important, but make sure they go with your outfit and comply with dress code.

✏ Pack all the things you need for the next day into your bag the night before so there is no rush the next morning.

05. It's the first day! Early bird catches the worm so get a great start!

✏ Wake up at least an hour and a half before you have to leave. Give yourself plenty of time to get ready and get out the door. Remember, there will be lots of kids being taken to school by parents on the first day so leave early to avoid the extra traffic.

✏ Spritz yourself with a light perfume or use a scented moisturiser. You can use a combination but don't overdo it.

✏ Wash your body parts, brush your teeth, wash your face, fix your hair, put on deodorant. If you have any favourite perfumes, do a little 'competition' between them and see which one comes out on top. Then wear that scent to school!

✏ Get dressed before you comb your hair. Then, run a good brush or comb through your hair several times until it looks neat and flat. Boar bristle brushes make hair shiny and smooth try one of those! Boys, don't spike your hair, at least not today. Undo your braids, girls, and lightly brush your hair if you would like it to be wavy or curly. Style your hair, being sure not to load on the gel.

✏ Apply your make-up, being careful to keep it simple. If you have a tan you can just go with mascara, eye liner and gloss. Don't forget a bronzer or blush for the extra color. Put on your jewellery.

✏ Take one last look at yourself and around your room.

✏ Eat a healthy breakfast to keep you energized throughout the day. Plan a good mix of carbs and protein while avoiding sugar.

✏ Put your cell phone (if you bring it to school) on silent!

06. When you get to school, all that preparation will pay off!

✏ Say hi to the familiar faces and catch up with friends.

✏ Be nice to everyone and start the year off on a great foot. Don't carry over any bad vibes from last year.

07. Have an awesome day! Be nice to everybody, and be sure not to get into trouble.

And that is all. Hope you guys enjoyed this tip.

xoxo
-Hanna
