How To Make A Flower Crown

How To Make A Flower Crown
Hey guys, it's Hanna.

Floral crowns are super easy to make and super cute to look at. Here is how to make this fall fashion trend.

✿ Pick or buy fresh or fake flowers. The beauty of making a flower crown is that you can use any type of flower you like. Stay true to the season by picking bunches of wildflowers from the side of the road, or go to a flower shop and choose gorgeous hothouse stems. To make this simple wired crown you can pick enough flowers to circle your entire head or just the sides and front.

✿ Cut the stems to 2 inches. All the stems should be the same length, so that the finished crown will look neat with no stem ends visible.

✿ Create the wire base. You'll need a few feet of floral wire, which you can find at any craft store. Choose either green or brown, depending on your taste. To create the base, simply measure the circumference of your head with a measuring tape, then cut a length of wire twice as long. Loop it twice, then rest it on your head. Adjust as needed, and secure the wire loop with a piece of florists' tape that matches your wire.

✿ Arrange your flowers in a pattern. Lay out the wire base and place your flowers around the wire in the arrangement that you like best. You can alternate different shapes and sizes, or consider placing the largest flowers in front and tapering the smaller flowers toward the back of the crown.

✿ Attach the first flower to the taped part of the wire. Centering your first flower over the part where the wire base is taped is a convenient way to hid the seam. Attach the flower by aligning the stem with the wire base, then looping a piece of florist tape around to secure it. Make sure the flower is firmly in place before continuing.

✿ Lay the second flower next to the first one. Arrange it so that the stem of the second flower slightly overlaps the first flower, and the blooms are seated right next to each other. Don't leave a gap between the two blooms, or your crown won't look as full.

✿ Continue attaching flowers. Keep securing flowers to your crown in this same manner, working your way around the circle. Check to make sure the blooms rest against each other, and ensure there are no gaps along the way. Keep going until you've used up all of the flowers you laid out in the beginning.

✿ Try on your crown. If you see any gaps or places where you want it to look more full, gently part the flowers, insert another one and tape it in place. Tie on a long ribbon in the back for a pretty effect.

And that's it. Hope you girls try it out.

xoxo
